This years E3 was my first time experiencing a large trade show packed full of unreleased games. It was a bit overwhelming having so much to choose from and only so much time. There were long lines at times and for several games I waited more than an hour to play for ten minutes. I didn’t even consider standing in the behemoth 6-7 hour line for Battlefield 3. In the end, my personal “Game of Show*” was tucked away behind a giant “Batman: Arkham City” booth right next to some child-friendly Kinect titles from Warner Brothers.

I have written quite a bit on whether or not Major League Gaming will pick up Gears of War 3 on the Pro Circuit next season.  It’s a persistent question, asked by a great number of competitive Gears of War players and those directly involved with MLG.  The Gears 3 Beta blew the socks off of everyone’s expectations, including my own,  and some of the continued dialog between Epic Games and Major League Gaming, we’ve been seeing as of late, has everyone in a tizzy. I have been asked,  ”Will Gears of War 3 Be on the MLG Pro Circuit in 2012?” more times in the past couple months, than any other question I have ever received.

This two part video commentary examines some of the  reasons why Gears of War 2 was removed and my thoughts on whether or not Gears of War 3 will make it to the Pro Circuit at the conclusion of the 2009 season.  Part II will release next week, so be on the lookout.

Today Major League Gaming announced details on their upcoming League Memberships. To some of you, it may come as a bit of a surprise that Major League Gaming is introducing an optional Membership program.  I however, have been patiently waiting for any information regarding the MLG Membership program.  For quite some time now I have speculated, with my teammates and various friends in the community, what features the League would offer that would legitimize the introduction of memberships.

It’s difficult to gauge the interest right now, but initial overall feedback seems to be positive. Personally, I think that Memberships are the next step to push Major League Gaming over the “hump” and bring about numerous changes in the Live events and online competition.  Let’s take a look at what the Memberships will offer:
